My corona: listening to children in corona times

Created with twelve Members of Children’s Parliament aged 8–14 across Scotland, The Corona Times Journal was established in March 2020 as Scotland entered a national lockdown response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. children were supported reflect on their experiences pandemic themed journal prompts around life at home, health and wellbeing, education learning, news information, return schooling. children’s views captured significantly informed Independent Child Rights Impact Assessment (CRIA) carried out by Observatory for Children's Human behalf Children Young People’s Commissioner impact measures human rights. This article brings three journalists together academics involved carrying CRIA contributing and, turn, playing key role informing development decision-making processes. It explores importance participation during times crisis when rights are most risk being compromised.
